Photo: Osinbajo swears in Justice Walter Onnoghen as Chief Justice of Nigeria

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo this morning swore in Justice Walter Onnoghen as the 17th Chief Justice of Nigeria CJN. The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja. 66 year old Justice Onnoghen is from Cross Rivers state.


The swearing-in ceremony was witnessed by Senate President Bukola Saraki, Ministers and some family members of the new CJN. Onnoghen was at the brief swearing-in ceremony, decorated with Nigeria’s second-highest national honour of the Grand Commander of Order of the Niger (GCON).
