An ISIS-affiliated news agency, Amaq, reports that a "soldier of Islamic
State" carried out the Westminster, London attack. The group posted a
tweet reading "Security source to Amaq agency: The perpetrator of the
attack yesterday in front of the British Parliament in London is a
soldier of the Islamic State and carried out the operation in response
to appeals targeting nationals of coalition countries."
Terrorism Analyst Paul Cruickshank however said the
language used by ISIS asserting the attack was one of its soldiers
doesn't necessarily mean the group is claiming it had connections to the
attacker.
He says such language has been used in the past by the group for attacks it believes it helped inspire.
